If you move your merchandise via rail, CSX Transportation Inc. provides an important link in the transportation supply chain that connects the Tampa Bay/I-4 Corridor Region to the United State's Eastern Seaboard and Midwest, and beyond.
In the Tampa Bay/I-4 Corridor Region, CSX plays a vital role in transporting merchandise to its final destination, which includes a variety of commodities that are important to the regional market; such as: containerized consumer goods, phosphates, aggregates, passenger vehicles, and energy products. CSX also operates two intermodal facilities, one in Winter Haven that opened in April 2014 and one in Tampa that is located five (5) mile from Port Tampa Bay. In addition, CSX provides direct rail access to Port Tampa Bay.
In the entire State of Florida, CSX operates and maintains more than 2,800 miles of track, which handled nearly 1.1 million carloads of freight during 2012. Furthermore, with approximately 21,000 route-mile rail network, CSX serves major population centers in 23 states east of the Mississippi River, the District of Columbia and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
